To the Warm Springs Little League (WSLL) Community,
First and foremost, we hope that you and your loved ones continue to stay safe. In our previous communication, we had communicated that the league will continue to monitor guidelines from the appropriate agencies (the State of California, County of Alameda, and Fremont Unified School District) for guidance and direction about permitted activities and timelines. WSLL is committed to adhering to all rules and regulations of these entities. At this point, we know from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) website that:
Baseball is considered a moderate contact sport and games between two different teams can be expected to resume once the county is in the red tier. At this point, Alameda County is in the purple tier.
However, physical conditioning, practice, skill-building, and training that can be conducted outdoors, with 6 feet of physical distancing, and within stable cohorts are authorized regardless of county tier status. This implies that as a league, we can look to resume baseball conditioning, practices over the coming weeks and help our kids get back to physical activity.
With this development, we will be opening up registrations beginning February 22 for practices and outdoor activities starting mid to late March. This plan is contingent on health directives from the various departments. You can sign up online at www.wsll.org starting Monday, Feb 22, 2021. Initial registration will be zero cost for practices and physical conditioning. However, we expect there will be a fee of at most $50 for Teeball and $150 for other baseball divisions at a later date once we know what can be offered in terms of a season with actual games. We will be also hosting two open forum calls to answer questions on February 25th and March 3.
Practices will be limited to a maximum of 14 kids and two adult coaches. We will share additional information in the coming weeks on team structure and composition based on registrations. Please see the attached flyer for additional information regarding our philosophy and team structures.
WSLL will enforce strict protocols that will ensure the greatest safety for our kids and coaches. This will include mandatory masks for coaches and kids while on the field, a minimum of six feet distance during practices, and mandatory sanitization before and after practice and no shared equipment. For a detailed list of our safety protocol, please see our website or contact email@example.com for more information.
Thank you for your consideration and support of the Warm Springs Little League. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
